This past week we decided we were going to go ahead and replace all the siding on the front of the house. Some of these boards were 50+ years old and had seen a bit to much wind and rain. What I thought was most remarkable was. The inside of the wall was in very good condition considering the age. It had a few bad spots in the bottom plate. However the floor joist and cap plates held up well for the age.
